Update & Recent Works: Inkjet Prints on Tracing Paper.

I’m very glad to be back blogging again, I’ve been crazy busy with deadlines and uni work since Christmas and haven’t really had any new work to put up here so decided to take a bit of a hiatus from running the site. I’m back and pleased to share with you some new work I’ve created recently.
I’ve been working with inkjet prints, layering photographic images  and tracing paper. Here’s just a few experimental pieces I scanned in this morning.

Tracing Paper, Print, Text. (a3)

studio space, dec '11.

projections, mixed media background.

stitch, inkjet print.

Today I came across an artist whose work is really similar to that of Joachim Schmid. Dick Jewell is an artist who collects found photographs and pieces them back together.

I’ll post more about his work at a later date, I’m currently spending every waking second working on my dissertation that’s being handed in on Monday. It’s been so useful for contextualising my work and I’ve been (attempting) to apply psychoanalytical theory to the works of Sally Mann, Richard Billingham and Colin Gray which has actually been really interesting! When that is finally out of the way I’ll be back posting regularly again. I still look forward to receiving emails etc if you have any questions though, so feel free to get in touch! xo

  1. These are beautiful; they make me want to go buy a bunch of tracing paper. :]

  2. So glad you are back blogging! I’ve missed your wonderful work!

    • Thanks for the lovely comments guys :) It’s great to be back!
And Wesley, I just glue a piece of tracing paper to normal printer paper and feed it through. It works okay but I’m not sure how good it is for my printer! xo

  3. How do you print on tracing paper?

I love the ethereal aspect of portraits printed on transparent papers. Have you ever tried gampi/silk paper?
